Kettlebell Information

Kettlebell Information

So everyone at the beginning of kettlebell thought, how does one use this? It’s a ball with a handle should I just swing it around?? Basically yes. Detailed below as short as I can is kettlebell information which suits beginners.

The next few paragraphs I will be telling and showing you a few exercises you can try at home or at your local gym, also the types of kettlebells available and how much they generally cost.

Kettlebell exercises

Right, so before I carry on about exercises lets find a kettlebell that’s right for you. Start small say 2-3kg, hold it in both hands or let’s get you into this position and we’ll see how you feel.

Kettlebell Stand

So far it’s not too bad, right? As always make sure you bend the knees before picking up any kettlebell just like anything else. Now let’s try this position the “Sumo Deadlift”.

Sumo Deadlift

Squat down, while firmly holding the weight with both hands. Try to touch the floor. Use the heels to push slightly on the ground, stand up, keep your arms still stretched but not too tight.

Easy pezy, no?

Ok lets try this one, let’s put you straight into the deep end. You can do this, just be take your time!

Kettlebell Information Lunge Press

OK, first take the kettlebell up to shoulder height in your right hand, while standing shoulder width apart, lift the weight into the air rotating the wrist so it faces away from you, as seen in the image. Whiling holding this position, take a step forward with your left leg and then drop the right knee to the floor. OK, now give that a try and come back to me. Now, you want to do the reverse, you want to push off the left leg until you are upright, then place the left leg with the right and lower the kettlebell to your shoulder. Now for the exciting part, do this a million times!!

Aright alright I’ll bring it down a notch, 6 reps for every set and we want 3 sets. Increase the reps and weight every few weeks until you are confident enough to explore other kettlebell exercises. 4-5 times per week for 2 weeks. A lot more kettlebell information can be read in the link provided below. It details the weight’s available, styles and other relative information.

Kettlebell Purchases

There are different materials used to manufacturer Kettlebells. Below I have listed and provided a link to three most common Kettlebells used today. You can find cheap kettlebells which will last though may crack for example vinyl kettlebells. Neoprene kettlebells are my favorite as they look and feel great.  See below for more kettlebell information.
