Plyometrics Training: Get your Plyometric Box now and get on it

Remember being a kid, and having fun hopping, skipping and jumping around the playground? What if I told you there was a workout that encorporates all of those moves, and is a killer? There is the entire basis of Plyometrics Training.

While you can go old school and practice it outdoors, nowadays you can easily buy a plyo platform/box and do it in the comfort of your own home.

Plyometrics (plyo for short) used to be called “jump training”, for obvious reasons. It has several benefits and applications, for example, athletes practice it to help them in their sport (basketball, football, tennis, etc). It’s all about explosive movements.

You can do a series of jumps and squats (like, for example, jump squats or one legged hops). Every time you land a jump, your muscles will get a stretch. That gives your next jump even more power. The combination of stretching and contracting your muscles whips them into shape.

All in all, it is a fun, cheap alternative to strength training workout, combining it with cardio. It will boost your strength, agility, balance.
